CHOPPY CHOPPY WATERS!!!

Congratulations to All who participated in the OSIM Triathlon! For all those who braved the VERY CHOPPY WATERS during the OD race... WELL DONE!! Give yourselves a pat on the back!! =o)
Swimming has never been my strong discipline so just having to swim is pretty much a challenge in itself. Adding CHOPPY Waters... May I emphasize... SUPER CHOPPY Waters with Strong currents... were additional challenges I could definitely do without! hahaha... But nevertheless... I survived! Being tossed about in the sea and drinking mouthfuls of sea water (not by choice!) truly humbled me in the hands of Mother Nature!

After negotiating the currents and waves for 750m (first loop) and heading straight back into the water AGAIN for the next 750m (second loop) simply took courage! At the end of it all... was it worth it? Yes... most definitely... It was an experience I've gained and lessons of deteremination and perseverance learnt which I wouldn't have otherwise! With each race and whatever the challenges, we always grow from strength to strength!

Running for a Good Cause - MILK Run

It was heartening to see more 10,000 individuals participating in the MILK Run! The MILK Run has an exceptionally large number of teenage participants! It was inspiring to see so many determined teenagers running a race of their lives... which kept me running! It was certainly a race for the youths supported by the youths! Hope more people would participate in next year's MILK Run as it is a true motivation to run for a good cause!

Sundown Marathon 2008

Hello! So sorry that it has taken me 6 months to post this! Lots of new beginnings, opportunities, and adventures during the last 6 months! Of course the most recent was running the Sundown Marathon! It was an interesting race as it was the first time I've ever had to run up steps during a marathon... that took me by surprise but the novelty was fun though! I also got to run through parts of Singapore I've never been before... kind of played tourist a little =o) Starting a run at midnight was definitely a first for me! Am no night owl! Plus, I didn't change my circadian rhythm for this race so I started to get sleepy from the 30km onwards. So much for an adrenaline rush! It didn't work for me! hahahha.... Thankfully, I was pacing my training Angel who kept me entertained and awake throughout the race. Thank you very much, Angel! To all the wonderful supporters who stayed up to cheer us on, A BIG THANK YOU! Congratulations to The First Stride ladies who achieved and completed what they had set out to do! Well Done, Ladies! Give yourselves a pat on the back!! Congratulations also goes out to my training Angel - First marathon in Sub-4hrs! What an achievement! Guess the training experiments worked! hahahha...

Rained Out Again!!

The Triladies Triathlon got rained out today! It seems like the weather has not been too kind to us this year on race days! Oh well... There are somethings in life we have no control over... However, we do have control over how we respond to the situations we are confronted with or challenged by. I do know a number of ladies who have trained hard and long for this very day! Do take heart ladies! It is not just about race day... It is about the training sessions that took you there! The training sessions that have made you more determined and stronger as an athlete and as a person! Remember... "It is not the destination but the Journey that matters most!" ~ Anonymous. Keep the fire and passion burning in you til your next race! Swim, Bike, Run, Ladies!! ;o)

I'VE COMPLETED THE RACE!!

Yes... I've completed the Aviva 70.3! Though it may not be my first ironman race, I am very glad and pleased that I've completed it! The week leading up to the race was crazy for me... I had a very full week of work and meetings. Everything was packed back to back!! I didn't have time to prepare my race equipment or even think about the race at all!! And naturally... the feelings of panic started to creep in!! Not only was I busy... Training for the race was also minimal!! Adding both situations... Made it very challenging ~ Psychologically!! I had to take a step back to calm my nerves and reminding myself to remain centered and balanced!

Among what seemed like chaos, I always knew that there is always light at the end of the tunnel!! True enough... GOD has already 'planted' wonderful 'Angels' (friends) in my life! None of them were racing but I sure kept them busy in helping me get ready for my race! They were absolutely wonderful as they went around picking up my last minute orders, hunting for water bottle brackets to reading up on the bike course and driving me through it the day before the race. I am truly blessed with them!! My heartfelt Thank You!!

I was also pleasantly surprised to see many familiar faces along the race course of people who made special efforts to be there to give me moral support!! A BIG Thank You to friends who cheered and supported me during the race!! Of course... Special Thanks to The First Stride ladies for getting up so early just to cheer me on!! I heard you all loud and clear each time I rode and ran pass! hahahha... Your cheers and encouragements kept me going!! Thank You!!

Last but never the least... My loving sisters and niece who cheered, supported, and saw me complete my race! I love you!
